  • Agriculture and horticulture provided employment to approximately 116,000 people in 2016.
  • Of this total, nearly 70% was accounted for by farmers and their family members.
  •  In agriculture and horticulture, around 60,000 person-years were recorded in 2016.
  • Approximately 80% of all work in agriculture and horticulture was carried out by farmers and their family members.
  • More than 15,000 foreign nationals worked in agriculture and horticulture, performing nearly 6% of the work in this sector.
  • The number of agricultural and horticultural employees has decreased by 24 per cent from 2013.
  • The annual workload in agriculture and horticulture has decreased by 18 per cent from 2013.
