Industrial roundwood removals and labour force 8/2016

- In August, 5.2 million m³ of roundwood was harvested for use by the forest industries in Finland. This removal volume was up 7% from the previous year and 16% above the ten-year August average.
- Sawlogs accounted for 2.4 million m³ and pulpwood for 2.7 million m³ of the industrial roundwood removal.
- Removals from forests in non-industrial private ownership were up by 8% from the previous year to 4.1 million m³.
- Forest industry companies and Metsähallitus harvested 1.0 million m³ of roundwood from their forests, which is 5% more than in August 2015.
