Description

The Food Potato Storages statistics estimate the on-farm stocks of potatoes that can be used as food potatoes, as well as the total volume of food and processed food potatoes. The figures for total stocks also include seeding potatoes.

Data content

The Food Potato Storages statistics show the stocks of food and processed food potatoes held on farms at 15 October and 15 January, as well as their average harvest yields.

Categories

The statistics are presented for the whole of Finland and by Employment and Economic Development Centre.

Data collection and sources

Data is collected using a sample survey of farms that have a total of over two hectares under food potatoes and processed food potatoes. The sample contains 400 farms.

Update frequency

The statistics are drawn up twice a year.

Preparation and publication schedule

The statistics are published in November and February.

Time series

Data is available from the harvest year 2006/2007 onwards.
