Cereals balance sheet, 2019 - 2020 (provisional) and 2018 - 2019 final figures

  • A total of 4 million tons of cereals were harvested in 2019
  • Approximately 1.7 million tons, was used to feed livestock.
  • Approximately 460,000 tons was used for food production, with wheat accounting for more than half - Oats use for food (140,000 tons) was more than rye (87,000 tons).
  • A total of 800,000 tons of cereals were exported and 16,000 tons imported. The biggest export was oats at approximately 433,000 tons.

The figures for the 1 July 2019–30 June 2020 crop year are still provisional at this time, and a final cereals balance sheet will be published in September 2021.
