Producer prices for fish 2018

The producer price of Baltic Herring used for human consumption (0,27 € / kg) rose compared to year before, whereas the price of Baltic herring defined as feed (0,18 € / kg) remained the same as in 2017.
The highest producer price, 6,27 € / kg, was paid for pikeperch.
The producer price of wild salmon had been increasing for two consecutive years, but now declined to 6,08 € / kg.
The producer prices of perch, burbot, pike and bream increased compared to previous year.
The price of rainbow trout (5,15 € / kg) declined compared to 2017, whereas the price of farmed whitefish (10,41 € / kg) rose, and was highest in the 2000s.
Information about fish producer prices is collected from enterprises that purchase fish from fishermen. Information about the producer price of farmed fish is obtained from the Finnish Fish Farmers' Association.
